About the event
The Symphonic Jazz Orchestra presents A Salute to Maurice White, honoring the legacy of the Earth, Wind & Fire founder with two performances of a special program celebrating his music. The concert features the world premiere of orchestral music White composed for the Symphonic Jazz Orchestra more than 20 years ago — music that was recently rediscovered and is now being performed for the first time.
Performed by the 68-member Symphonic Jazz Orchestra under the direction of conductor Mitch Glickman, the program also includes symphonic arrangements of Earth, Wind & Fire classics such as September, Reasons, Fantasy, In the Stone, and That’s the Way of the World. New arrangements have been created by John Clayton, Derrick Hodge, Vince Mendoza, Marshall Gilkes, and Mitch Glickman.
