Free Community Concert with Chris Brubeck – November 17th

Guest soloist Chris Brubeck, son of the late Dave Brubeck, performs a movement of his Trombone Concerto along with his father’s classic “Blue Rondo a la Turk.” Also on the program is the opening movement of Pat Williams’s Pulitzer Prize nominated “An American Concerto” and the world premiere of “Varying the Elgar Variations” by SJO music director Mitch Glickman.

The 68-member Symphonic Jazz Orchestra, conducted by Mitch Glickman, is the country’s premier ensemble uniquely dedicated to bridging the worlds of jazz and classical music. The SJO’s recording of commissioned works from composers George Duke and Lee Ritenour is available on iTunes.

The SJO’s free “Arts for Life” hourlong concerts always fill-up quickly so be sure to get your tickets while they are still available.
