The SJO’s 20th Anniversary Celebration Concert – March 13, 2022

The Symphonic Jazz Orchestra celebrates its 20th Anniversary with a Gala Concert on Sunday, March 13, 2022 at the Carpenter Performing Arts Center in Long Beach. The 68-member ensemble, under the direction of music director Mitch Glickman will be joined by two very special guests, saxophonist Gerald Albright and vocalist Jazzmeia Horn.

The concert will also feature the world premiere of two recently commissioned works from composers, Remy Le Boeuf and Jihye Lee, winners of the ASCAP Foundation/SJO Commissioning Prize. The concert will also pay tribute to the SJO’s former co-music director George Duke with his music performed by Albright and Horn. Opening the program will be a new work, gListen composed by Mitch Glickman.
